ST. THOMAS -- A motorist lost control of a truck while driving on Crown Mountain road in St. Thomas, causing the truck -- which was loaded with asphalt, according to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte -- to crash into a house on the side of the hill.

Mr. Dratte said the incident occurred during the 10:00 a.m. hour on Wednesday. Traffic division officers received notification of the incident at about 10:42 a.m. The truck was traveling down Crown Mountain Road about 300ft from the Solberg intersection, when the driver lost control.

The home that the truck crashed into was already severly damaged by the recent hurricanes, according to Mr. Dratte. The driver received medical treatment and was released.
