As a part of the Annual Veterans Day activities throughout the Virgin Islands, this year the Virgin Islands Office of Veterans Affairs and the American Legion District 10 will be honoring female veterans in the territory, according to a release issued Wednesday.
Being honored as the parade marshall and guest speaker on the island of St. Croix is Major Kathleen A. Parris of the Virgin Islands National Guard. On the island of St. Thomas, Sergeant First Class Laurel Maloon-Francis will be honored as the parade marshall, according to the release. Serving as guest speaker on the island of St. Thomas will be former military spouse Monique Y. Ferrell, director of the Army Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention Program, according to the release.
Veterans Day parades in the territory are scheduled as follows:
- Veterans Day Parade - 11 November 2017 at 9am on Frederiksted St. Croix
- Veterans Day Parade - 11 November 2017 at 3pm on St. Thomas
