VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced the following arrests and incidents on St. Thomas from July 17-20.
St. Thomas Arrests
Friday, July 17, 2015 – At 6:30 p.m., Irving Jones, 54 of Smith Bay was arrested and charged with third degree assault after he was positively identified by a complainant as the person who attempted to slice them. Unable to make bail of $25,000, Jones was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advise-of-rights hearing.
Friday, July 17, 2015 – Maccus O. Williams, 43 of Gamble Gade was arrested and charged with third degre assault (DV) at 12:45 p.m. in connection with an incident that occurred on Friday, July 3, 2015. According to the report, Williams struck his girlfriend with a metal pipe several times, breaking her forearm and requiring emergency surgery. Williams was placed under arrest and remanded to the Bureau of Corrections.
Saturday, July 18, 2015 – Benito Dawson Jr., 31 of Anna’s Retreat was arrested and charged with grand larceny and unauthorized use of a vehicle after he’d been involved in an auto collision. Unable to post bail of $45,000, Dawson was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advise-of-rights hearing.
St. Thomas Incidents
Thursday, July 16, 2015 – At 1 p.m., units with the Criminal Investigation Bureau responded to the call of a burglary in Lindbergh Bay. The victim stated that at 12: 00 p.m. that afternoon, two armed and masked men came into her residence, struck her in the head with the butt of a gun, and ransacked the bedroom before removing cash and jewelry from the residence.
Sunday, July 19, 2015 - at approximately 11:14 p.m., detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau reported to the Schneider Regional Medical Center in regards to a stabbing victim. Officers met with the victim, a Hispanic male, who refused to provide any information regarding the incident that occurred in Smith Bay.
