Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle In St. Thomas

ST. THOMAS -- A man died at the Schneider Regional Medical Center on Thursday night after being struck by a vehicle earlier the same night, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced today.

The incident occurred at about 7:55 p.m. on Krum Bay Road. A vehicle was headed west in the area of Adelita Cancryn Junior High School, while the man was crossing the street, Mr. Dratte  said. The vehicle then struck the victim, who was then rushed to the hospital for medical attention. He later succumbed to his injuries. 

The victim was identified only as a 52-year-old Hispanic male, as next of kin had yet to be notified as of midday Friday, according to the release.

The incident is under investigation by the V.I.P.D.'s Traffic Division.
