Man Rushed To Hospital After Being Shot Multiple Times In St. Thomas

ST. THOMAS -- A man was shot multiple times in St. Thomas late Tuesday night while sitting in his vehicle, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced late Wednesday. The incident occurred in the area of Goat Street (Prindsens Gade ) at about 10:28 p.m.

According to Mr. Dratte, officers arrived on the scene soon after being notified, and made contact with the victim, who was still in the driver's seat of the vehicle. The victim stated that he was reversing into his residential parking lot space when an unknown black male opened fire on him. 

The victim sustained several gunshot wounds about the body and was transported via ambulance to the Schneider Regional Medical Center for treatment, Mr. Dratte said.

Mr. Dratte said the V.I.P.D.'s Criminal Investigation Bureau is investigating the incident. The force is asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact C.I.B. at 340-774-2211, or Crime Stoppers USVI here.
