ST. THOMAS -- Police arrested two men on separate counts of burglary, grand larceny, assault and other charges, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson has announced.

Jackson said 22-year-old Derrick Johnson was arrested on Friday and charged with third degree burglary, grand larceny and possession of stolen property.

The charges and arrest stemmed from an incident that occurred one day earlier, Thursday, at about about 1:39 a.m. at the Fat Turtle restaurant, where Johnson was observed on surveillance video removing items from the business.

Johnson was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advise-of-rights hearing after failing to make bail of $25,000.
