After Searching Residence, Police Arrest St. Thomas Woman For Possession Of Marijuana With Intent To Distribute

ST. THOMAS -- A young woman from this island was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute after police conducted a search of her residence and found growing marijuana plants, VIPD Media Specialist Sakeeda Freeman announced today.

According to Ms. Freeman, last Saturday at about 8:00 p.m., police arrested Jene Lima, 21, of Estate Bovoni, after they discovered 32 marijuana plants approximately 2 to 3 feet tall in her backyard.

Unable to post bail of $10,000, Ms. Lima was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending her advise-of-rights, hearing.
