The V.I. Department of Tourism announced Friday that Sun Country Airlines will increase its seasonal service from Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport (MSP) to Cyril E. King Airport (STT) in St. Thomas. The route will expand from one to two flights weekly for the Winter and Spring 2026 travel season.
The announcement comes on the heels of Cape Air's announcement of additional inter-Caribbean connectivity with flights between St. Thomas and St. Barth.
According to the release, the expanded service will operate on Saturday and Sunday from December 13, 2025, to April 12, 2026, offering greater accessibility for Midwestern travelers seeking sun-soaked, passport-free vacations in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
“We are excited to see Sun Country Airlines expand its service to St. Thomas, a clear indicator of the U.S. Virgin Islands’ growing popularity as a preferred Caribbean destination,” said DOT Commissioner Joseph Boschulte. "Increasing connectivity from the Midwest continues to be a top priority, and we look forward to welcoming even more visitors from the Minneapolis-St. Paul area as we build on this strong partnership.”
