Spirit Airlines is set to enhance its daily service between Fort Lauderdale and St. Croix. Starting from November 15, 2023, the airline will introduce the Airbus A321neo aircraft, replacing the A320 on this route. This upgrade will continue until January 9, 2024.

The details for the enhanced St. Croix route are as follows:

  • Flight NK438 will depart Fort Lauderdale at 12:47 PM, arriving in St. Croix at 4:28 PM.
  • The return flight, NK449, will leave St. Croix at 5:23 PM and touch down in Fort Lauderdale at 7:31 PM.

Both flights are scheduled to operate daily with the A321neo aircraft.

In broader operational updates, Spirit Airlines has made several adjustments to its December 2023 and January 2024 schedules. Several routes that were initially set to recommence in December 2023 have now been pushed to January 2024. Among the temporarily suspended routes from December 4, 2023, to January 10, 2024, are flights connecting cities such as Baltimore with San Antonio, Chicago with New Orleans, and Orlando with Hartford, among others.

Earlier reports had indicated changes to various routes, including the discontinuation of services between Fort Lauderdale and Aguadilla as of December 3, 2023, and Orlando to Ponce as of December 2, 2023. On the bright side, certain routes, like Fort Lauderdale to Hartford and Fort Myers to Atlanta, which were initially listed only until December 3, 2023, have now been extended through May 7, 2024.

One consistent point is that there have been no changes to the planned service resumption date of November 15, 2023, for the Houston – Tampa route.

Travelers and aviation enthusiasts are encouraged to stay updated with future announcements from Spirit Airlines, especially as the airline continues to adapt to the dynamic travel landscape.
