Governor Albert Bryan has extended his travel out of the territory to November 9, to accompany his daughter as she visits colleges and universities ahead of graduation from high school in June 2020, Government House has announced.

According to Government House, Mr. Bryan recently visited Washington, D.C. for a series of meetings with key Congressional leaders and officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency; the Department of Health and Human Services; the Department of Housing and Urban Development; and the Department of Treasury.

Government House Communications Director Richard Motta Jr. said Monday that the meetings in Washington, D.C., which focused on disaster recovery funding and averting the Medicaid fiscal cliff, were successful, and added that “the governor now has to shift to his equally important duty as a father to accompany his daughter as she considers this most important decision in her future endeavors.”

Lieutenant Governor Tregenza A. Roach, Esq., will serve as governor until Governor Bryan returns on November 9.
