The West Indian Company Limited President and CEO Joseph Boschulte has been recognized by the Caribbean Tourism Organization Foundation for his contributions to Caribbean tourism and his leadership in advancing the U.S. Virgin Islands tourism industry.
Boschulte received an Appreciation Award during the CTO Foundation’s annual awards luncheon, held as part of Caribbean Week in New York City.
The recognition celebrates Boschulte’s longstanding work in Caribbean tourism and his role in strengthening the U.S. Virgin Islands’ position within the regional tourism sector. Caribbean Week is the region’s premier tourism event, bringing together government officials, industry leaders, media representatives and stakeholders to highlight tourism achievements and opportunities across the Caribbean.
Before returning to WICO, Boschulte served as commissioner of the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism. In that role, he helped guide the territory through a period of significant tourism growth, expanded airlift, strategic marketing initiatives and record-breaking visitor arrivals.
His leadership has been credited with helping to strengthen the visibility and competitiveness of the U.S. Virgin Islands within the Caribbean tourism landscape.
Boschulte accepted the award on behalf of the tourism professionals and community members whose work supports the U.S. Virgin Islands visitor economy.
"I am deeply honored to receive this recognition from the CTO Foundation," said Boschulte. "This award reflects the dedication of the countless individuals across our tourism industry who create exceptional experiences for our visitors every day. I am proud to accept it on behalf of our entire U.S. Virgin Islands tourism community."
The award also highlights the U.S. Virgin Islands’ continued leadership within the Caribbean tourism sector and recognizes the work of public and private sector partners who help improve the visitor experience and support economic opportunity throughout the territory.
