The V.I. Dept. of Tourism is celebrating the nomination of Honeymoon Beach on St. John as one of the best beaches in the Caribbean, as recognized by USA Today.

Honeymoon Beach, nestled in the renowned Caneel Bay, stands out among the 16 stunning beaches on St. John. About 60 percent of St. John's land is under the protection of the U.S. National Parks, preservation that has helped maintain the island's "lush greenery, immaculate beaches, and the vibrant underwater world that surrounds it," according to D.O.T.

The shortlist for this accolade, which includes Honeymoon Beach, was selected by a panel of experts and announced today by USA on Tuesday. The public now has the opportunity to vote for their favorite beach until January 1, 2024.

D.O.T. Commissioner Joseph Boschulte expressed his gratitude and pride following the nomination. "This nomination of Honeymoon Beach is a testament to the territory's sprawling beauty and our dedication to preservation. We are thankful for the recognition and encourage everyone who has ever visited the beach to vote and share your experience," he said.

D.O.T. is encouraging both locals and visitors who have experienced the serene beauty of Honeymoon Beach to participate in the voting here, showcasing their support for one of the USVI's most treasured natural assets. The nomination is seen as a significant acknowledgment of the U.S. Virgin Islands' efforts to maintain and promote its stunning coastal landscapes.
