Governor Albert Bryan is leading a U.S. Virgin Islands delegation to the annual Sea Trade Conference in Miami, Florida, from April 8 to April 11, as part of efforts to bolster the territory's status as a leading destination for cruise tourism and maritime activities.
According to Government House, during the conference, Mr. Bryan will engage with industry executives and participate in discussions aimed at shaping the future of cruise tourism in the Caribbean. “The Sea Trade Conference is a critical platform to connect with industry leaders and showcase the many advantages the Virgin Islands offers to the global maritime community,” the governor remarked. “Our beautiful islands, rich history, and cultural offerings make us an ideal destination for cruise lines and maritime businesses alike.”
Mr. Bryan plans to use this international platform to showcase the Virgin Islands' recent advancements in port infrastructure and its dedication to sustainable tourism. “The Virgin Islands is a leader in sustainable tourism, and we are committed to working with our partners in the cruise industry to ensure a healthy and vibrant environment for future generations,” added Governor Bryan.
The Sea Trade Conference, recognized as the cruise industry's largest global event, serves as a meeting ground for a diverse array of stakeholders, including cruise companies, port authorities, and travel agents. It offers extensive opportunities for networking, educational sessions, and discussions on emerging industry trends.
In Governor Bryan's absence, Lt. Governor Tregenza Roach will assume the responsibilities of acting governor, ensuring the continuous governance of the territory.
