CENTRAL BROWARD PARK, Ft. LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA -- The U.S. Virgin Islands took over the Miami Carnival stage with the energetic VI Soca Artist Dennis Pumpa Liburd on Sunday evening. As he performed for the responsive crowd, the territory's logo along with the official poster of the Crucian Christmas Festival were on magnificent display for all to see. The USVI's participation in the well-attended event was part of the Dept. of Tourism Commissioner, Joseph B Boschulte's strategy to entice not only the diaspora, but travelers from all over to the USVI.
Pumpa’s appearance on Sunday was one of two activities the Dept. of Tourism held over the weekend, the first being a VI Ambassadors event at The Dalmar Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Our publisher, Ernice Gilbert, described the affair as memorable in his writeup.
