Oriental has announced a new campaign expanding the options for deposit account holders to send money within Puerto Rico, the U.S., and the Virgin Islands. Customers will now have access to both the People Pay service and the ATH Móvil® service.
The People Pay service allows customers to send up to $2,000 to any bank in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Meanwhile, the ATH Móvil® service provides instant money transfer capabilities, permitting the sending and receiving of up to $500 per day in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands at participating institutions.
Idalis Montalvo, Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations at Oriental, stated that the combination of ATH Móvil and People Pay makes Oriental the only bank in the region that provides such flexibility and options for money transfer. Montalvo emphasized Oriental’s commitment to simplifying their clients' lives by providing time-saving solutions.
To utilize ATH Móvil, customers must have a deposit account with an active Oriental Mastercard®/ATH® debit card. They must also register their debit card linked to savings accounts. Customers need to download the ATH Móvil application, click on the register button, and validate their cellphone number, email, and debit card number. In contrast, the People Pay service is integrated into Oriental’s Mobile Banking App, with registration for the service required via Oriental Online Banking.
With ATH Móvil, clients can register up to five ATH debit cards to their profile. All transactions are in real-time and are free of charge. The application also allows access to transaction history and is compatible with iOS and Android mobile devices.
The services offer a high level of security measures to protect customer information throughout the transaction process. Nevertheless, the bank has advised its customers to remain vigilant and refrain from sharing ATH Móvil validation codes or personal, sensitive information with anyone or via any website.
