Liberty VI is set to begin a fiber installation project in Estate Clifton Hill starting on Monday, September 9, with the work expected to take approximately five weeks to complete. The project aims to bring Fiber to the Home (FTTH) broadband service to the residents of the area, expanding access to Liberty’s high-speed internet network.

The installation work will involve placing underground fiber optic cables, which will not only enhance the service quality for Clifton Hill residents but also improve the resilience of the network against natural disasters and vandalism.

Ravindra Maywahlall, general manager of Liberty VI, emphasized the company's commitment to expanding fiber access across the territory. “As we acquire the necessary permits, we are moving forward with our Fiber to the Home construction projects so more locations in the territory can have access to our fiber fast internet,” he said. Maywahlall also assured residents that updates on future installation projects in other areas will be provided as additional permits are approved.

The installation at Estate Clifton Hill will take place on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will utilize a micro-trenching technique to lay the fiber cables. This method involves creating a 1 ¾-inch cut in the ground, minimizing pavement breakage and reducing dust emissions. Liberty VI will also make use of existing ducts wherever possible to further decrease the impact on the roadways.

While the project is designed to minimize traffic disruptions, some lane and partial road closures will occur, leading to potential delays for drivers in the area. Residents are advised to park their vehicles on their properties to prevent obstructions or damage and to exercise caution when navigating the narrow roadways around the construction zone.

Liberty VI said it will provide continuous updates on the project via its website (https://www.libertyvi.com/news) to help residents and drivers plan their daily commutes.
