Crafts, Baranowski Claim Top Spots At 2nd Ten Bay 10K; Funds Raised To Benefit St. John Rescue And St. John Landsharks

ST. JOHN -- Eighty-two runners and walkers turned out for the second Ten Bay 10K Road Race on St. John on Sunday, December 2, according to a recently issued release. The Ten Bay 10K featured a challenging and scenic course within the Virgin Islands National Park along North Shore Road. Beginning at the Virgin Islands National Park Visitor Center, the course traversed the north shore of St. John for 6.2 miles, overlooking ten of the world's most beautiful bays and beaches. The race finished at Maho Bay Beach, the release said. The top male finishers were Matt Crafts (45:43), Beau Layton (46:28) and Tim Hanley (47:59) of St. John. All participated in the first Ten Bay 10K in 2016. Crafts is also one of the race directors. Of the event, Crafts said, “[t]his is an awesome course that is as hard to conquer mentally as it is physically.
