St. Croix Track Club Mustangs Take Georgia By Storm, Winning Several Gold and Silver Medals in Various Track and Field Categories

The St. Croix Track Club Mustangs won 11 medals at the Memorial Day Southern Showdown in Stockbridge, Georgia, according to a release from the St. Croix Track Club. A total of twenty-three teams participated in the meet which was held in the Atlanta area, and the St. Croix Track Club Mustangs finished in 8th place with 133 points.

Mustang Michelle Smith was the Most Valuable Athlete by winning 3 gold medals. Michelle won gold in the 400m Hurdles in a new VI National Junior record of 58.30. Michelle also came in first in the 100m Hurdles and the 800m in the 15/16 age group.

Mustang Malique Smith won 2 gold medals, finishing first in 400m Hurdles and the 400m in the 19+ age group.

Mustang Faith Eatmon won a gold medal in the 200m in a personal best of 30.06, and a silver medal in the High Jump with a jump of 4 feet - 1.22m in the 11/12 age group. Faith finished 5th in the 400m with a personal best of 1:13.33.

Mustang Jordan Vaughn won gold in the Shot Put with a throw of 35 feet and 4 inches - 10.77m in the 19+ age group.

Mustang Akyra Joseph won gold in the High Jump with 4 feet and 6 inches - 1.37m. Akyra also finished 10th in the 400m and 4th in the 200m in a personal best of 26.93 in the 15/16 age group, according to the release.

Mustang Mikaela Smith won a gold medal in the 800m in the 19+ age group in a time of 2:15.57.

Mustang Olivia Jones won a silver in the 1500m in a personal best time of 7:54.52 and she finished 4th in the 800m in a personal best of 4:12.58 in the 8 and under age group.

Mustang Jeniqua Weekes finished 5th in the 400m in a personal best time of 1:08.71, 5th in the 200m with a personal best time of 29.12 and 4th in the long jump with 14 feet 3 inches - 4.34m in the 13/14 age group.

Mustang Robert Ventura III finished 11th in the 100m in 17.67, 6th in the 400m in 1:35.62 and 13th in the 200m in a time of 38.18 in the 9/10 age group.

Mustang J'Neolise Green was 8th in the prelims of the 100m in a personal best time of 14.30, which qualified her for the final. In the final of the 100m J'Neolise ran a 14.31 for 8th place. J'Neolise finished 16th in the 200m in a personal best of 29.87.
