Colorado State and Northeastern Will Face Off in the 2021 Men's Paradise Jam Championship Monday Night

The Colorado State Rams will play the Northeastern Huskies in the 2021 Paradise Jam Championship Monday night at 9:00 p.m. at the UVI Sports and Fitness Center after both teams won their first two games of the tournament to earn their spot in the final. 

Colorado State won their opening game against Bradley 66-60 before defeating Creighton 95-81 in the semifinals of the tournament. Northeastern beat  Duquesne 71-55 on the opening day and Southern Illinois 59-47 in the semifinals.  

David Roddy has been the Rams top scoring threat during the tournament and has averaged 33 points in Colorado State’s two Paradise Jam victories. 

Colorado State made 20 three-pointers to set a Paradise Jam and school record for three-pointers made during their 93-81 semifinal victory over Creighton. The Rams made nearly 60 percent of their three-point attempts in the win. 

Shaquille Walters is the leading scorer for the Huskies so far this Paradise Jam and he is averaging 20.5 points in his team’s two games played.  

The third-place game of the tournament will be played at 6:45 p.m. between Creighton and Southern Illinois.  

Creighton leading scorer this season is Alex O'Connell with 14.8 points per game and Southern Illinois leading scorer this year is Lance Jones, who is averaging 19 points per game. 

Brown and Colorado won their consolation round games on Saturday and will play for fifth place on Monday at 4:15 p.m. AST, while Bradley and Duquesne will play in the seventh place game on Monday at 2:00 p.m. 

Brown defeated Bradley 65-62 on Saturday and Colorado beat Duquesne 84-76 in overtime to set up these games.  

Colorado trailed by 11 points with 7:29 left in the second half before mounting a comeback to force — and then dominate — overtime in their win against Duquesne. 

Keeshwan Barthelemy will enter the game as Colorado's leading scorer with 17 points a game so far this season, and Kino Lilly Jr. 's 12.7 points per game is the highest scoring average on Brown’s team this year. 

Bradley’s leading scorer so far this season has been Terry Roberts with 15.6 points per game, and Kevin Easley Jr. is Duquesne’s leading scorer with 13.2 points a game so far this season.
