Residents across the Caribbean reported outages in broadband internet and mobile services from two major Internet Service Providers on Monday morning. The outage, still ongoing, will affect V.I. Consortium's Regional Newsdesk for at least Monday, the company said today. V.I. Consortium's "Regional News" product is streamed on weeknights on the company's Facebook platform at 7:30 p.m.

Flow and Digicel customers  in a number of islands have been affected, with reports coming in from Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, St. Vincent and The Grenadines, Dominica and Saint Lucia.

Digicel took to their social media to a service interruption notice, and to address customer concerns about the outage.

There has been no indication from Digicel as yet on an estimated time of repair.

Meanwhile, Flow has also addressed the outage, assuring customers in a Facebook post that a team of engineers have already been mobilized and are currently at work trying to restore connectivity as soon as possible.

Flow's parent company, Cable and Wireless, has also reportedly addressed the issue, stating that it could take a few days to find a sustainable solution.

Damage to fibre-optic cables off the coast of Guadeloupe may have partially contributed to network congestion from last week, however Monday’s multi-island service disruption has been attributed to a fault in network equipment at a major distribution hub.

As of Monday afternoon, many were still reporting connectivity problems, although some functionality has been restored.
