ST. CROIX – The Virgin Islands Port Authority (VIPA) has issued an Invitation to Bid (ITB No. 2023-ITB-0005) for the rehabilitation of Apron 6, 7, and 2 at the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport.
The base bid project involves the demolition of the existing 20-inch thick apron pavement and its replacement with 15-inch concrete pavement and 5-inch Caliche Base Course. The work also includes the demolition of the existing Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP) Drainage pipe network, inlets, and manholes, and the installation of a new drainage network consisting of Class V reinforced concrete pipe and aircraft-rated inlets.
The Additive Bids include expanding the concrete apron replacement area, removing the existing asphalt apron push back apron behind Terminal Gates 7 through 10, and replacing it with 15-inch Concrete Pavement and 5-inch caliche base material.
Potential bidders are invited to a Non-Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference scheduled for 2:00 PM local time on Thursday, June 8th, 2023, in the Main Terminal Conference Room. A site visit will be conducted immediately after the conference for interested parties. Attendees may join via Microsoft Teams using Meeting ID: 286 639 909 435 and Passcode: NreMsG.
Bidders can access the project's plans and specifications from May 26th, 2023, by logging into VIPA's e-Procurement site.
Bids must be submitted electronically through VIPA's e-Procurement site (https://viportbids.ionwave.net) by 2:00 PM local time, Thursday, June 22nd, 2023. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security in the form of a certified check from a solvent bank, or a bid bond, amounting to five percent (5%) of the Base Bid price, payable to the U.S. Virgin Islands Port Authority (ST. CROIX).
The Virgin Islands Port Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive any irregularities, informalities, or technicalities, re-advertise for bids, or decide whether to award or refrain from awarding the contract for the work.
