ST. THOMAS, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS - The Virgin Islands Port Authority (VIPA), under ITB No. 2023-ITB-0006, has announced an invitation to bid for an upcoming barge ramp dredging project at the Urman Victor Fredericks Marine Terminal.
VIPA is actively seeking bids from competent and licensed contractors for the execution of dredging work, set to cover an area of roughly 4,500 sq. ft. The project involves work adjacent to the bulkhead of the Urman Victor Fredericks Marine Terminal's Barge Dock, with the dredging expected to reach a depth of 13 feet below mean lower-low water, aiming for a controlling depth of 12 feet.
Electronic bids will be accepted through the Authority's e-Procurement system, available at https://viportbids.ionwave.net. The deadline for submissions is slated for 2:00 p.m. AST, on Friday, June 30, 2023.
Once initiated, the project is estimated to span a duration of ten calendar days, with in-water work scheduled from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed to the final completion and demobilization from the site. Operational work hours for the project are specified as 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. daily.
Potential bidders are encouraged to participate in a non-mandatory pre-bid meeting and site visit scheduled for Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. AST at the Urman Victor Fredericks Marine Terminal.
In accordance with VIPA policy, no bids can be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of ninety days. The Virgin Islands Port Authority reserves the right to waive any informalities in or reject any or all bids, or to re-advertise if necessary.
