The Virgin Islands National Park has announced that Caneel Bay, the Cruz Bay Visitor Center and the Trunk Bay Fee Station will remain closed until Friday, as teams embark on post-Ernesto cleanup operations. Cinnamon Bay campground will open Thursday evening for current reservations, however.

With Wednesday’s damage assessment completed, NPS says that post-storm cleanup will begin Thursday morning.

The Cruz Bay Visitors Center finger pier and the Redhook dock also remain closed for public use, and will open once the park is again welcoming visitors, NPS says. Other National Park and National Monument moorings are open.‌

Those with vessels secured in Hurricane Hole have until Friday August 17 at 2pm to remove them, in keeping with the 72-hour time limit to remove vessels after a storm warning has been lifted.

NPS asks those who may be using areas with closed facilities, including bathrooms and trash cans, to practice Leave No Trace principles, packing out and removing all materials brought onto the site.
