DLCA Informs Public Of Oscar Mayer Turkey Recall

The Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs announced in a recent press release the recall of over 2 million pounds of Oscar Mayer turkey bacon, produced between May 31, 2015, and August 6, 2015, due to "spoilage-related consumer complaints," by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). In other words, DLCA says, "the turkey bacon may have spoiled before its "Best When Used By" date and may make consumers susceptible to foodborne illness." USDA determined this case as a Class II recall, defined as "a health hazard situation where there is a remote probability of adverse health consequences from the use of the product." The USDA urges consumers to avoid consuming the following products: Oscar Mayer "Selects Uncured Turkey Bacon" (UPC 0 4470007633 0) with "Best When Used By" dates of Aug. 24, 2015, through Oct. 26, 2015. Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon "Smoked Cured Turkey Chopped and Formed" (UPC 0 7187154874 8) with "Best When Used By" dates of Aug. 28, 2015, through Oct. 20, 2015....
