In a bid to alleviate the financial burdens of its patients, Schneider Regional Medical Center has announced a limited-time bill amnesty program, providing significant relief for those with outstanding medical bills.
The initiative offers a 50% discount to patients who pay their total outstanding balances in full by October 15, 2024. For individuals unable to make a full payment upfront, a 12-month payment plan option is also available with a 20% discount on the outstanding balance.
"We recognize that some patients may not have received their bills promptly or may not be fully aware of their outstanding balances," said Tina Comissiong, CEO of SRMC. "We are actively sending out billing statements and encourage anyone unsure of their account status to contact us. This program provides financial relief and encourages patients to settle their accounts with significant savings."
Eligibility and Objectives
The amnesty program is effective immediately, and all patients with unpaid balances are eligible to participate. By launching this initiative, SRMC said it aims to support patients facing financial challenges while ensuring the medical center has the necessary resources to maintain high-quality healthcare services for the St. Thomas-St. John district.
"We want everyone to have an opportunity to participate in this amnesty program and receive the discount," stated Comissiong. "Our goal is twofold: to provide financial relief to our patients and ensure SRMC can collect the necessary resources to continue offering safe, reliable care to everyone who needs it."

- Visit the Business Office in Person: The office is located on the second floor of Roy L. Schneider Hospital and is open during regular business hours.
