The Juan F. Luis Hospital is advising the public that wait times in its Emergency Department may be longer than usual because of an increased volume of patients.

The hospital said every patient is triaged upon arrival, with care prioritized according to the severity of illness or injury. The process is intended to ensure that patients with the most urgent medical needs receive timely care.

JFL stressed that anyone experiencing a life-threatening medical emergency should not delay seeking care.

“If you are experiencing a life-threatening medical emergency, PLEASE DO NOT DELAY SEEKING CARE. Come to the Emergency Department or call 911 immediately.”

The hospital acknowledged that extended waits can be frustrating and thanked the community for its patience, understanding and kindness as physicians, nurses, EMS partners and support staff work to provide safe care for patients coming through the Emergency Department.

JFL also thanked its team for their dedication, professionalism, resilience and compassion during the busy period.
