The Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center has announced the appointment of Adeline Williams-Connor as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO).

According to a release issued Thursday, Mrs. Williams-Connor brings more than 40 years of experience in healthcare leadership and operations. Her career has been defined by a foundation in clinical excellence, quality assurance, education, and system-wide transformation. A native of St. Thomas, she has long been an advocate for strengthening healthcare delivery in the Virgin Islands and throughout the Caribbean.

Her professional background includes high-ranking roles such as Director of Nursing Services, Vice President, Hospital Administrator, Performance Improvement Officer, Clinical Risk Manager, and Emergency Management Coordinator. During her tenure in these capacities, she played an integral part in regaining CMS certification, securing Joint Commission accreditation, and launching programs to promote clinical training and professional development.

Mrs. Williams-Connor’s career has also extended well beyond the Virgin Islands. She has collaborated with healthcare institutions in Anguilla, the British Virgin Islands, Bermuda, and various U.S. states including Florida and Utah, expanding her impact and demonstrating an ability to operate within diverse healthcare systems.
