The V.I. Department of Health has announced that the Morris F. De Castro Clinic on St. John will reopen next week under a limited schedule as the department works through recent staffing challenges, with full operations set to resume later in the month.
According to the Department of Health, the clinic will operate on a phased basis, opening on Tuesday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the upcoming week. Full services are scheduled to resume on Monday, January 26.
The temporary schedule is part of a gradual reopening plan while staffing issues are addressed. Residents seeking details about which services will be available during the limited operating days are encouraged to contact the clinic directly at 340-776-6400.
“We are grateful to the St. John community for their patience and understanding during this temporary disruption,” said Health Commissioner Justa Encarnacion. “Our team has worked diligently to restore services, and we look forward to fully reopening the clinic later this month.”
The department advised residents to plan appointments accordingly during the limited reopening period. Until the Morris F. De Castro Clinic resumes full operations, individuals who require care may continue to access services at Department of Health clinics on St. Thomas, if necessary.
The Department of Health said it will continue to provide updates as the reopening progresses and thanked the community for its continued cooperation.
