The Crucian Christmas Festival will take place this holiday season, though what has been organized is heavily scaled down compared to 2019 and prior years as local leaders continue to keep Covid-19 at the center of their decision-making regarding large gatherings.

The events, confirmed to the Consortium by Dept. of Tourism Commissioner Joseph Boschulte, are the Food, Arts and Craft Fair, which will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 4; "A Vibe Like No Other" Village event which will include local and international artists for Wednesday, Jan. 5; and a "Socalypso Village Night" taking place on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2021. All events will be held at the Agricultural Fair Grounds in Estate Lower Love.

The events will be capped at a capacity of 1,000 people who are either vaccinated or had tested negative for Covid-19 within a 24-hour window, according to a flyer of the event provided to the Consortium, seen below. The "no mask, no entry" policy of the Bryan administration is also printed on the flyer.

Traditionally, Village entertainment includes almost two weeks of events, and there are functions such as Jouvert Morning and the Adults and Children's Parades that are main highlights of the Crucian Christmas Festival. However, aside from the three days of events at the Ag Fair grounds confirmed by D.O.T., there was no indication that the other popular activities such as parades and jouvert would take place this year.

"Crucian Christmas Festival in-person events are becoming a reality," said Mr. Boschulte. "From January 4-6, 2022, Division of Festivals will produce three hybrid events with live entertainment, Crucian cuisine and culture. All Dept. of Health protocols will be followed, including masks. Stay tuned for more details; we are long overdue."
