Joseph Boschulte and Beverly Nicholson-Doty
As the Bryan administration enters its final two years, key officials are considering their next steps to ensure career stability. Among them is V.I. Department of Tourism Commissioner Joseph Boschulte, who is reportedly being interviewed for the position of CEO at the West Indian Company (WICO), according to two sources with direct knowledge of the matter.
Mr. Boschulte is no stranger to WICO, having previously served as president and CEO. His experience makes him a strong candidate for the role. He was recently interviewed for the position, but according to one source, a final decision has yet to be made.
Meanwhile, as discussions continue over Mr. Boschulte’s potential departure, Beverly Nicholson-Doty is among the candidates being considered to lead the Department of Tourism (DOT) should the position become vacant. Nicholson-Doty previously served as DOT commissioner for 12 years—eight under Governor John P. de Jongh Jr.and four under Governor Kenneth Mapp. After leaving the role when Governor Bryan took office, she was appointed CEO of the St. Lucia Tourism Authority, where she continued to earn praise for her leadership.
Governor Bryan values Boschulte’s leadership and sees his potential departure as a challenging position to fill. However, with less than two years left in the administration, Boschulte is said to be weighing long-term stability in his career decisions.
Governor Bryan did not provide a comment when reached.
