The V.I. Lottery has announced that its operations will remain suspended until further notice following a significant breach in its information technology (IT) infrastructure. This breach, which occurred last week, has led to the closure of its offices and a halt in all lottery activities.

Executive Director Raymond J. Williams addressed the situation, stating, “We are making notable progress but to ensure our systems are completely operable, we will stay closed for sales and prize payments. It is my fervent hope that these delays will end soon. We advise our dealers and cherished customers to be patient.”

The impact of this security breach extends to the Virgin Islands Lottery’s schedule, particularly affecting the January 18 drawing. The organization has confirmed that this drawing will be rescheduled, although a new date has not yet been determined.

The VI Lottery extended its gratitude to its employees, customers, and the broader community for their continued patience and understanding during this challenging time. The organization said it recognizes the inconvenience caused by this suspension and is working diligently to resume operations as soon as possible.

For those seeking additional information regarding the suspension or the rescheduling of the drawing, the Virgin Islands Lottery encourages contacting the Executive Director at 340-998-3387. As the situation evolves, further updates are expected to be provided.
