Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. is set to deliver the 2026 State of the Territory Address at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26 from the Earle B. Ottley Legislative Chamber in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, marking the final such address of his administration.
The upcoming address will be Bryan’s eighth and final State of the Territory Address, during which he is expected to provide an accounting of his administration’s work over the past seven years, assess the territory’s current outlook, and outline the priorities and decisions shaping the year ahead.
“This is a moment to speak plainly to the people of the Virgin Islands about where we stand, what we have built together, and what must still be done,” Bryan said. “It is also a moment to honor the strength of our people. We have been tested, we have worked, and we have moved these islands forward. I encourage every Virgin Islander, at home and across the diaspora, to tune in.”
Before the address can take place on the newly announced date, the Virgin Islands Legislature is expected to act on a formal request from the Office of the Governor to extend the date of the annual address. The original date had been set for Jan. 12, but the administration has requested that the Legislature approve moving it to Jan. 26. Lawmakers are expected to consider and act on the request during their scheduled session on Monday, Jan. 12.
The State of the Territory Address serves as the governor’s annual report to the Legislature and the public, detailing major initiatives and policy priorities affecting residents across St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John.
