Bryan Intends to Engage Google on Digital Transformation of VI Government During Trip to Washington

Government House on Friday provided more details regarding Governor Albert Bryan's trip to the nation's capital next week, revealing that the governor will travel to Capitol Hill to meet with lawmakers. He will also meet with officials of Google before attending the National Governors Association's Winter Meeting which takes place in Washington D.C. this year.

In addition to meetings with members of Congress to talk about the territory’s economic future, WAPA and energy, health care, bond financing and other pressing issues, Governor Bryan will also attend the Department of Interior’s annual Inter-agency Group on Insular Affairs, Gov't House made known.

The governor is also scheduled to testify before the Senate Committee for Energy and Natural Resources to give them a status update on the state of the territory.

Mr. Bryan will begin the week with representatives from Google, Howard University and the D.C. Mayor’s Office. The topics of discussion for those meetings will include digital transformation for government sectors, Google’s Public Sector resources for empowering a culture of innovation, training and health IT workforce development partnerships and opportunities with Howard University and government of the District of Columbia.

The governor is scheduled to return on Sunday, February 12, and Lt. Governor Roach, who also is out of the territory next week, is scheduled to return on Monday, February 13.

During their absence, Finance Commissioner Bosede Bruce will be the Acting Governor, and Senate President Novelle Francis Jr. will assume the duties of the lieutenant governor.
