ST. THOMAS — “Good night St. Thomas!"

With the streets surrounding the Rothschild Francis Market Square closed off and flowing with revelers, Alison Hinds headlined the kick-off to Carnival VI St. Thomas on Saturday night with the hits that earned her a worldwide reputation as the Queen of Soca.

Old crowd favorites, new hits. The music kept hundreds of people singing, dancing and preparing to carry the good vibes through to the official start of the Carnival VI St. Thomas, the 68th carnival event on the island.

Food vendors lined the street, bands kept the crowds moving all day and evening.

Ms. Hinds is expected to return to the Virgin Islands again in July for the St. John Festival, said Ian Turnbull, director of the Division of Festivals.
