ST. CROIX — The winner of the 2019-2020 Crucian Christmas Festival People's Choice Award for his hit single "Wuk Together", is inviting all of St. Croix — and if you're determined enough, from St. Thomas and St. John as well — to his video shoot on the Frederiksted Pier this Saturday.
Horace A. Mathew, Jr., known as BugZbugs, also captured this year's Groovy Title during the Soca Monarch Competition with the hit song. Mr. Mathew said people attending should come expecting to have a fun time, and are encouraged to wear any local brand or festival attire.
The shoot starts at 3:00 p.m., but the organizers are requesting that participants come out early — be there at least by 2:30 p.m. — so you don't miss out on the action.
For those with children, Felix Bouncers will be on hand, along with eats outfit Sobetiere, which sells local ice cream and sorbets.
A description of the event says, "The goal is to create a festive atmosphere on the pier and invite troupes such as The Ricardo Richards Dancers, The Guardian of Culture Moko Jumbies, Regal Dynasty and Simply Sophisticated Fun Troupe, just to name a few."
The description goes on to say that the producers of the video are attempting to highlight St. Croix's festival and the message of unity, which the song, titled "Wuk Together", speaks to.
