ST. CROIX — Virgin Islanders looking to take a break from the territory’s politics will have a rodeo-themed option Sunday, when Island Vybez Promotions brings its latest Sunny Side Up event to Prosperity Farm with Jamaican dancehall recording artist Nigy Boy making his first St. Croix appearance.
The “Boots & Bottles” Rodeo Edition will run from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday, July 26. Guests may attend in cowboy or cowgirl attire of any style and color.
Island Vybez partnered with Tortola-based YOLO Promotions to secure Nigy Boy for the event. The artist is known for songs including “Options,” “Judgement,” “Risk it all” and “Jeezum.”
The entertainment lineup also includes Freeze International, who has roots in Trinidad and is based in New York City; DJ Stakz, who has roots in Haiti and is also based in New York City; General of Y2K Sounds; and Syndicate Sounds.
Prosperity Farm will be transformed into a Western-themed setting for the event. Organizers said guests can expect several photo opportunities, including themed backdrops and an opportunity to take pictures with a real horse.
Promoters are encouraging attendees to embrace the theme with cowboy hats, cowboy boots and creative Western outfits in any style or color. They believe the rodeo concept could make this the largest Sunny Side Up edition yet, noting particular enthusiasm among women interested in creating bold Western looks.
The event is restricted to attendees 21 and older and is billed as all-inclusive. Admission includes unlimited mimosas from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., along with a Southern- and country-style brunch while it lasts.

Sunny Side Up began in 2018 and has become known for featuring local and international talent, unlimited mimosas and brunch. The series changes venues and themes, with each edition designed to provide guests with a different experience.
Organizers said Sunny Side Up has grown from a small gathering into what they describe as St. Croix’s largest day party, with attendance exceeding 500. The promotion also seeks to introduce new international performers to the Virgin Islands with each edition.
