ST. CROIX — Crucian Gold has announced its 7th Annual Serenade on Strand Street, a beloved community event showcasing the heart of Virgin Islands culture through music, dance, and local artisans. This year’s celebration will take place on Saturday, November 23, from 12 to 4 p.m., signaling the start of the holiday season with live performances, local crafts, and family activities.
The highlight of the event is a live performance by the famed St. Croix quelbe band, Ten Sleepless Knights, who will be performing on the patio of Rum Haven Restaurant. Known for their iconic contributions to Virgin Islands heritage, the band will play from noon until 4 p.m., setting a festive tone that embodies the spirit of St. Croix. Joining the band are performances by the Guardians of Culture Moko Jumbies, the Ten Sleepless Knights Dance Group, and the Caribbean Dance Company, bringing a vibrant showcase of traditional dance and cultural artistry to the streets.
This year’s Serenade on Strand Street will transform the area with a variety of local vendors offering holiday gifts, unique crafts, and an array of food and drink options, including traditional favorites such as Coquito. Family-friendly attractions will also be on hand, with activities like face painting adding to the festive atmosphere. Local businesses such as West Gyul, The Sweet Stuff, Miss J’s Coquito, Savor St. Croix, 506 Scents, and Child’s Party Service will participate, contributing to the holiday market’s selection and ensuring that attendees have a variety of local products to explore.
In keeping with the event’s commitment to community support, Crucian Gold will donate a portion of the proceeds from its Jimmy John collection sales to the Ten Sleepless Knights Scholarship Fund. This fund aims to provide educational opportunities for youth in the community, reinforcing the event’s focus on uplifting local talent and investing in future generations.
The event’s location is set at Crucian Gold, 1112 Strand Street, and the community is invited to come out to support local artisans, get an early start on holiday shopping, and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the Virgin Islands.
