The best time to be on St. Croix, many would argue, is during the holiday season. The island comes alive with a flurry of activity, capped off by the Crucian Christmas Festival — two solid weeks of Village entertainment, the highly anticipated Food Fair, Children's and Adults parades, and so much more.
The season officially began on November 23rd with Crucian Gold's Serenade on Strand Street. However, the energy soared this past weekend with a lineup of events, including the lively Christiansted Jump Up! on Friday, the 15th Annual Coconut Festival from Friday through Sunday, and Striving Artists Day on Sunday. These events were joined by numerous others, including nightlife entertainment at clubs and various venues.
Among the standout events was OMA (One Man Army), hosted by acclaimed Virgin Islands producer and recording artist Marvelus, also known as Swanks. The event showcased a stellar lineup of local talent, including Pumpa, Big Shaw, Jougo, Adam O, and others, who delivered electrifying performances at Fort Frederik on Saturday night.
With December now in full swing, the holiday season on St. Croix is set to become even more packed with events, offering patrons a diverse array of options to enjoy. Highlights include the Christmas Foreday Morning Serenade featuring Stanley and the Ten Sleepless Knights, and the Crucian Christmas Festival, which runs from December 26 through January 4. Early January brings the popular Crucian-Rican Breakfast Tramp. In addition to these hallmark events, several promoters are gearing up to host a variety of entertainment activities, ensuring there's something for everyone during this festive time.
