The Virgin Islands will hold its 2024 General Election today, with voting centers across St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Elections System of the Virgin Islands has provided multiple voting center locations on each island, allowing residents to cast their ballots at any center on their home island.
On St. Croix, voters may go to the D.C. Canegata Recreation Center, St. Dunstan’s Episcopal School Auditorium, St. Croix Central High School Modular Gymnasium, St. Joseph Church Hospitality Lounge, or Claude O. Markoe Elementary School Auditorium. For the St.
Thomas-St. John District, voting centers on St. Thomas include the Charlotte Amalie High School (SPRUNG), Elridge Blake Sports & Fitness Center at UVI, Ivanna Eudora Kean High School Gymnasium, and Tutu Park Mall (South Entrance Near Post Office). On St. John, voters may visit the Julius Sprauve Elementary School or the Guy Benjamin School (Sprung).
In adherence to Title 18, Section 556 of the Virgin Islands Code, electioneering within 200 feet of polling places is prohibited. This restriction will be in effect at all voting centers, with an additional note for the St. Dunstan’s Episcopal School Auditorium on St. Croix, where electioneering will not be allowed until after 4:00 p.m. due to an active school day. The Virgin Islands Police Department will establish barricades to mark these restricted areas.
Supervisor of Elections Caroline F. Fawkes also reminded voters that for those unable to participate during early voting or on Election Day, absentee ballots are available. Voters or their representatives can obtain an emailed absentee ballot or pick one up directly from the Elections System Office.
For further assistance or questions, voters are encouraged to contact the Elections offices at 340-773-1021 for St. Croix or 340-774-3107 for St. Thomas.
