Voters on St. Croix concerned about their registration status can now peruse the newly compiled list of inactive voters on the Big Island, says the Election System of the Virgin Islands.

In an announcement on Wednesday, the Elections System says that the list includes all voters “who reside and/or resided in the St. Croix District” and who have not voted in the last two general elections. These voters have now been deemed “inactive”.

The list of inactive voters is available online and at the St. Croix Elections office in Unit 26 of the Sunny Isles Shopping Center. Copies of the list will be posted at various government agencies across the island as well.

Inactive voters, says the Elections System, are still duly registered to vote. An affirmation of current and continuous residence may be required before an inactive voter is allowed to cast a ballot. Once the voting process is completed, the individual will be restored to the rolls of active voters. The System reminds the public that someone can update their registration status themselves at any time before 7:00 p.m. on Election Day. To complete the reinstatement form online, visit vivote.gov/status to look up registration details and receive further guidance.
