Supervisor of Elections Caroline Fawkes on Friday announced that because of the "overwhelming success" of early voting, hours for the two last days of early voting — Saturday and Sunday — have been extended through 5:00 p.m. Early voting on both days will commence at 9:00 a.m., according to Ms. Fawkes.
The number of electors who have participated in early voting as of Friday is as follows: St. Thomas-2,941, St. Croix-3,066, and St. John-203, a total of voters’ territory-wide-6,210.
Early Voting locations are as follows:
- St. Croix Elections Office- Sunny Isle Shopping Center, Unit 26, 1st Floor (Former Movie
- Theatre location between Master Insurance Agency and Nav Jeweler) • St. Thomas - Charlotte Amalie High School Gymnasium
- St. John Elections Office- Market Place Suite II
Ms. Fawkes pleaded with voters not to wait until the last minute to cast their ballot. Voters have a myriad of ways to cast their ballots, utilizing early voting, requesting an absentee ballot from their respective Elections office, and Election Day at their respective voting center.
Ms. Fawkes quoted deceased Congressman John Lewis: "The vote is precious. It is the most powerful non-violent tool we have in a democratic society, and we must use it.”
