The Early Voting period for the 2024 U.S. Virgin Islands General Election has successfully concluded, with notable participation from electors across the territory.
Supervisor of Elections, Caroline Fawkes, expressed satisfaction with the turnout, noting the strong engagement from early voters over the 15-day period. A total of 6,832 residents participated in Early Voting, representing 22 percent of registered voters territory-wide. The turnout breakdown included 2,887 voters in St. Thomas, 3,781 in St. Croix, and 164 in St. John.
For electors who were unable to participate in Early Voting, Election Day provides another opportunity to cast ballots on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Voting Centers will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and voters are permitted to cast their ballots at any voting center on their respective island.
Additionally, voters unable to visit polling locations on Election Day still have options. Ms. Fawkes reminded the public that they, or their representatives, can request an absentee ballot either via email or directly from the Elections System Office.
