After a lengthy delay caused by technical issues with the vote tabulation system, the results of the Democratic Primary election on Saint Thomas have been recorded, and voters have selected their preferred candidates to contest legislative elections in November.
Donna Frett-Gregory, Milton E. Potter, Carla J. Joseph, Marvin A. Blyden, Joel S. Browne Connors, Ray Fonseca, and Lawrence Boschulte received the most votes (in that order) among primary voters, and will now test their mettle against four Independent and Independent Citizens Movement (ICM) candidates in November. These candidates are Independents Alma Francis Heyliger, Dwayne M. DeGraff, Dawn Lisa Henry, and ICM candidate Margaret Price.
Browne Connors, Fonseca, and Boschulte would be new to the Senate if elected on November 8th with all other successful candidates either currently serving as Senators or having previously held the post.
