Dept. Of Education Celebrates 'Week Of The Young Child' 2018

The Virgin Islands Department of Education will hold its annual celebration of the Week of the Young Child at elementary schools across the territory from April 16-20, 2018. The annual activity is sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and celebrates early learning, young children, their teachers and families. St. Croix Elementary Programs Coordinator Jeselle Cruse-Peter has announced a variety of activities being held at the district’s elementary schools. This year, due to the double session schedule elementary schools in St. Croix are placed on, there will be no annual culminating activity which brings together the district’s youngest learners for a day of fun and community demonstrations. However, throughout the week, community partners, departments and agencies will make presentations to students at the various school sites.
