Governor Bryan meets with Educators outside Gov't House on St. Croix Wednesday By. Ernice Gilbert for the Virgin Islands Consortium
Governor Bryan met with AFT Union local leaders along with St. Croix educators during a protest outside Gov't House on Wednesday. The educators have been calling for better teaching — and learning — conditions at schools territory-wide, with the AFT President on St. Croix, Rosa Soto-Thomas, criticizing Education officials for lack of communication. She was pointed with Carlos McGregor, the St. Croix Superintendent, who Ms. Soto-Thomas said needs to be removed from his position because many teachers have complained of his "bad attitude." Mr. Bryan countered that the AFT was supposed to provide him with a list of deficiencies affecting the schools. Watch.
