St. Croix Superintendent of Schools, Carlos McGregor, on Friday called police to have American Federation of Teachers Local Chapter President, Rosa Soto-Thomas, removed from the premises of the Arthur A. Richards K-8 School, because he did not want her to be part of a meeting to update the staff on the reasons the school was closed today — and will probably be for some time. Mrs. Soto-Thomas decided she would not leave because, she said, as head of AFT on St. Croix she had a right to know the problems affecting her members. The meeting was held up for over an hour until Mr. McGregor decided to move forward with Mrs. Soto-Thomas present. Mr. McGregor said he simply did not want Mrs. Soto-Thomas to be part of what he said was a staff meeting. Turns out (as you'll seen in an upcoming video), the information relayed did not warrant the level of opposition waged by Mr. McGregor.
