After Commissioner of Education, Racquel Berry-Benjamin, said “we are now in graduation season, which is one of the most exciting times of the year at the Department of Education,” during a Virgin Islands Department of Education Community Update on Wednesday, representatives from the Virgin Islands schools and education programs shared their plans that will allow graduates to receive their diplomas on their respective high school campuses later this month.
Each high school ceremony will be utilizing a hybrid format that includes some pre-recorded elements like speeches from the dignitaries and some in person elements; most importantly graduates will walk across a stage to receive their diploma while close family members watch and are able to document the moment with photographs. Some of the adult education programs will be strictly in-person events without the pre-recorded speech elements.
The ceremonies will not be open to the public and will be limited to graduates and invited guests only. It was stated that the high school graduations will be lived streamed on the D.O.E. Facebook page. No statement was made whether the non-high school ceremonies would be live-streamed.
Safety protocols include temperature checks, mask wearing and social distance will be enforced.

The St. Croix Central High School on May 18 on 10 a.m.

Ivanna Eurdora Kean graduation on May 20 at 1 p.m.

Charlotte Amalie High School graduation on May 21 @ p.m.

St. Croix Career and Technical Center graduation on May 17 @ 10 a.m.

Raphael O. Wheatley Skill Center & Adult Education graduation on June 4 at 2 p.m.

St. Croix Adult Education Program on May 17 @ 4 p.m.
