ST. CROIX — The St. Croix District Division of Student Services has released vital registration details for the 2023-2024 school year.

The V.I. Dept. of Education permits year-round enrollment for students transitioning from non-public schools. This arrangement accommodates families' different needs and ensures no child is left behind.
For the incoming Kindergarten class, DoE stipulates that students must turn five on or before December 31st of their entry year. Similarly, for the Granny Pre-K program, students should be four years old by December 31st of the year they start school.
The Division of Student Services emphasizes the necessity for original documents during registration. The required paperwork includes official birth certification, the social security card of the student, and relevant legal documents relating to guardianship or adoption, if applicable.
School records are also essential. For Kindergarten through 8th-grade students, the most recent report card or progress report will suffice, while 9th through 12th graders are required to submit an official transcript. Attendance and disciplinary records, along with 504/IEP plans, if applicable, should be included.
Proof of immunization and an updated health clearance form from the Charles Harwood Health Clinic are additional requirements. Furthermore, a government-issued photo ID of the parent or guardian registering the student is required.
Regarding proof of residency, homeowners should provide one of the following: a signed closing statement, a deed, a property tax receipt, or a government-issued document, along with a current WAPA bill. Renters must present a lease agreement signed by the landlord and tenant, along with a current WAPA bill, even when utilities are included in the lease. A notarized Landlord Affidavit and Proof of Address from the property owner is also mandatory.
The Division of Student Services is open from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon, Monday through Friday. For additional support, contact student.services@stx.k12.vi or call the Virgin Islands Department of Education St. Croix District at 340-773-1095.
