The St. Croix Foundation has announced another scholarship opportunity – this time for students interested in pursuing tertiary education in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The Lang-Wise STEM Scholarships will award three graduating seniors in the class of 2023 up to $3,000 each, towards obtaining a degree in a STEM-related field. Established in 2022 by Raydiance Wise, an engineer and St. Croix resident, the scholarship is expected to help offset costs associated with attending college; travel, clothing, textbooks, and other school-related expenses that can become burdensome.
“We are honored to work with the St. Croix Foundation to support our youth as they pursue studies and careers in STEM,” said Mr. Wise. “I personally benefited from scholarships and fellowships as I pursued my Bachelor’s and Master's degrees, ad we look forward to seeing our 2023 recipients excel in these challenging and rewarding fields.”
According to a statement from the Foundation, to qualify for the scholarship applicants must provide proof of acceptance to an accredited four-year college or university and maintain a grade point average of 2.75 or higher. The deadline for applications, which can be submitted online, is June 30.
This is the first official cycle of the Lang-Wide STEM Scholarship Fund.
