The V.I. Department of Education has officially announced and congratulated the winners of the 52nd Annual Territorial Spelling Bee, recognizing their impressive linguistic talents and dedication to academic excellence.

This highly anticipated event, which brings together top spellers from across the territory, showcased the determination, skill, and resilience of participating students.
Top Winners Announced
The VIDE extended its congratulations to the competition’s top three winners:
- First Place: Evan Fahie, Lockhart K-8 School
- Second Place: Rayan Felix, Free Will Baptist School
- Third Place: Jahmir Greaux, Eulalie Rivera PreK-8 School
Awards and Recognition
Each participant in the spelling bee received a:
- Medallion
- Certificate of participation
- Backpack bundle
- Tablet and book bag bundle
- Flash drive, notebook, and mouse pad bundle
- VI Territorial Spelling Bee t-shirt
The top three spellers were awarded a Spelling Bee trophy, a Chromebook computer from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH), and a Longman Dictionary from Pearson.
Grand Prize and National Representation
The 2025 Territorial Bee Champion, Evan Fahie, will receive additional prizes, including:
- A one-year subscription to the official dictionary of the Scripps National Spelling Bee – the Merriam-Webster Unabridged Online Dictionary
- A battery power bank
- The U.S. Virgin Islands Social Studies Civics Textbook
- Two round-trip tickets on Seaborne Airlines, courtesy of the VIDE State Office of Curriculum and Instruction
Additionally, Fahie has earned a six-night stay at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland, during the week of Memorial Day 2025, where he will represent the U.S. Virgin Islands in the Scripps National Spelling Bee. This grand prize is sponsored by the Virgin Islands Daily News.
